The artwork Sima conveys a sense of functional alienation. The term "Sima" originally means "one who manages warhorses." This role could refer to logistical work by laborers within a marching formation or signify the position of a supreme commander. Around 4000 to 3000 BCE, humans began domesticating horses, using them as transportation tools or strategic resources. In this artwork, however, the role and function of the horse are swapped and redefined, challenging traditional perceptions and established rules in response to the evolution of the times.

“司马”这件作品透露着一种职能被异化的状态，司马一词的本意是“掌管战马”。而“掌管战马”的既可以是行军队列中劳夫的后勤工作，也可以指代最高统帅的官职。大约在公元前4000年至公元前3000 年之间，人类就已经开始驯养马匹，作为人的交通工具或战略资源而被使用。而在此作品中，马的角色和功能被调换和重新定义，也是时代发展对传统认知和既定规则发起的挑战。
