Fixed Star

“Fixed Star” is a media installation work made by mechanical engineering and projection. It inspired the action model of pages rolling and the sound of beat from the flip clock. It is a hint for time-lapses. The strings in the projected video vibrate and never rest, like stars. This is the ideal form for a string as a base object. In the meanwhile, the moving images are projected on the nine modules of blank pages. This screen/film imaging system could cause an optical illusion for the audience. Because although it looks that the steps of pages rolling and the film playing are synchronous, the image method is independent of the firm content.

《恒星》是一件由机械与投影画面所构成的媒体机械装置作品，它通过模拟翻页时钟的页片翻滚运动, 及其击打声达到一种对时间前行的提示。而投影画面中的‘弦’保持颤动而不停息，犹如恒星。这也是‘弦’作为基础物件最为理想的形态。同时在空白的9组叶片上投射画面，达到一种成像方式与画面内容看似同步运行，实则相互独立的感知误差。
